Rules for using Checkpointr.

These Terms explain the rules that apply when you use the Checkpointr mobile app, checkpointr.com, and related services.

Summary

What these terms cover

Checkpointr is a social game tracking and discovery service for checkpoints, reviews, lists, groups, recommendations, Steam library import, playtime context, wishlist activity, and price alerts. These terms cover account use, user content, conduct rules, Premium, ads, moderation, third-party services, and service availability.

Your account

You must provide accurate account information, protect your login credentials, and use the app only for lawful purposes.

Your content

You keep ownership of content you create, but you grant Checkpointr permission to host and display it as needed to operate the service.

Safety rules

Harassment, spam, impersonation, malicious activity, and attempts to bypass security or payment controls are not allowed.

Purchases

Premium subscriptions and purchases are optional. Billing, renewal, cancellation, and refund handling may depend on Google Play, Apple, or the relevant app store.

Steam and price alerts

Steam sync, store links, prices, discounts, playtime, recommendations, and notification timing are informational features that depend on third-party availability and data quality.

1. Accounts and Eligibility

  • You are responsible for the activity that happens through your Checkpointr account.
  • You must keep your login credentials secure and tell us if you believe your account has been compromised.
  • You must not create accounts using false, misleading, automated, or unauthorized methods.
  • Checkpointr is not directed to children under 13. If you are under the minimum age required by your local law, you may not use the service.

2. User Content

Checkpointr lets users create profiles, checkpoints, reviews, recommendations, comments, lists, wishlist activity, groups, quest content, messages, reports, uploads, and other content.

  • You keep ownership of content you create.
  • You grant Checkpointr a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, process, display, reproduce, modify for formatting, and distribute your content only as needed to operate, improve, protect, and promote the service.
  • You must have the rights needed to upload or share any content you submit.
  • You must not submit content that is unlawful, abusive, threatening, hateful, sexually exploitative, invasive of privacy, infringing, deceptive, malicious, or otherwise harmful.
  • Some content may remain visible to other users depending on privacy settings, feature design, moderation state, or deletion choices.

3. Acceptable Use

  • Do not harass, threaten, stalk, impersonate, exploit, or abuse other users.
  • Do not spam, scrape, crawl, reverse engineer, overload, disrupt, or attempt unauthorized access to Checkpointr or related systems.
  • Do not bypass bans, rate limits, App Check, payment gates, premium gates, moderation actions, or security controls.
  • Do not manipulate reviews, recommendations, ratings, price alerts, social counts, or engagement signals through fake, coordinated, automated, or misleading activity.
  • Do not upload malware, harmful code, credential-harvesting content, or content that interferes with the service.
  • Do not use Checkpointr to violate law, third-party rights, app store rules, or platform policies.

4. Moderation and Enforcement

We may review reports, investigate abuse, remove content, restrict features, suspend accounts, ban accounts, preserve safety records, or take other actions when needed to protect users, the service, or legal rights.

  • Moderation decisions may rely on user reports, automated signals, staff review, or platform requirements.
  • We may remove or limit content without prior notice when we believe it violates these Terms or creates risk.
  • Reports, blocks, warnings, and moderation records may be retained as described in the Privacy Policy.

5. Premium, Purchases, Ads, and Trials

  • Checkpointr includes a free core experience. Optional Premium features, gifts, subscriptions, trials, or one-time purchases may be offered.
  • Prices, renewal periods, trial terms, taxes, and cancellation options are shown in the relevant app store or purchase screen before purchase.
  • Subscriptions may renew automatically unless cancelled through the store account used to purchase them.
  • Refunds, billing issues, and payment disputes may be handled by Google Play, Apple, RevenueCat, or the applicable payment platform according to their policies.
  • Premium gifts may be limited to eligible recipients, supported products, regions, platforms, app-store rules, and successful entitlement confirmation.
  • Entitlement updates may require store or RevenueCat processing, backend sync, or a manual restore before the app reflects the current state.
  • Checkpointr does not process full payment card numbers; billing is handled by the applicable store or payment platform.
  • Free surfaces may show ads where supported. Premium may remove ads or unlock features only according to the current in-app entitlement rules.
  • We may change Premium features over time, but we will not intentionally remove paid access without a valid operational, legal, platform, or abuse-prevention reason.

6. Third-Party Services

Checkpointr integrates with third-party services such as Firebase, Google Play, Apple, RevenueCat, Google Mobile Ads/AdMob, Steam, Steam Store APIs, IGDB/Twitch, YouTube, Typesense, Cloudflare Turnstile, and email or diagnostics providers.

  • Third-party services may have their own terms, privacy policies, availability limits, and account requirements.
  • Steam connection, Steam library import, playtime sync, now-playing, store links, and price tracking are optional and depend on Steam's OpenID, public profile/library availability, and public store data.
  • Steam price alerts are informational only. Always verify final price, currency, taxes, refund terms, regional availability, and purchase conditions in Steam or the applicable store before buying.
  • Recommendations, reviews, ratings, tags, comments, and user opinions are community or product-context features, not professional advice or an endorsement by Checkpointr.
  • Game metadata, artwork, trailers, videos, screenshots, store links, and availability information may come from third-party providers and can be inaccurate, incomplete, delayed, changed, or removed.
  • We are not responsible for third-party outages, policy changes, price data changes, store decisions, media availability, or data made unavailable by those services.

7. Service Changes and Availability

  • We may modify, add, suspend, or discontinue features to improve the product, comply with law or platform rules, manage cost, protect security, or respond to abuse.
  • Closed-beta access, beta invitations, beta badges, and pre-launch availability may be limited, changed, paused, or closed based on capacity, eligibility, platform requirements, or abuse prevention.
  • We try to keep Checkpointr reliable, but the service may be interrupted by maintenance, outages, platform limits, network issues, or third-party failures.
  • Notifications, price alerts, Steam sync, search, recommendations, media loading, and social delivery may be delayed, incomplete, or unavailable because they depend on scheduled jobs, device settings, network conditions, and third-party providers.
  • We may release updates that are required for security, compatibility, or continued access to the service.

9. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

Checkpointr is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, uninterrupted availability, and error-free operation.

We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, timing, or availability of game metadata, playtime, prices, discounts, recommendations, reviews, ratings, user content, third-party media, store links, or notifications.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Checkpointr and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data loss, business interruption, or third-party platform issues.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Turkiye, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles, except where mandatory consumer protection laws in your country require otherwise.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are material, we may update the effective date and provide additional notice where required. Continued use of Checkpointr after the updated Terms become effective means you accept the updated Terms.
